Controversies • According to some reports, in the year 2004, Goldberg had a backstage brawl with veteran Chris Jericho. Although, the exact reason for the brawl is not known, people believe that Goldberg’s refusal to take part in a storyline involving Jericho during their time in WCW is the cause behind it.

  • Apart from playing violin, Goldberg’s mother, Ethel, also breeds flowers. She once created an award-winning hybrid orchid, which she named after him.
  • Before developing a career in professional wrestling, Goldberg played as the defensive tackle for the Georgia Bulldogs and was drafted by the NFL side Los Angeles Ram in the year 1990.
  • Thanks to the WCW legends Lex Luger and Sting, who discovered Goldberg at a gym in Atlanta; impressed by his personality, they asked him to try his luck at Pro-wrestling.
  • Originally, Goldberg made his in-ring debut under the name Bill-Gold. He fought 5 dark matches under this name before finally evolving into the character Goldberg.
